Service Description

This course is for summer rock climbers/scramblers or winter hill walkers with a good level of fitness, stamina and the ability to tie a figure of eight knot! (previous winter skills course experience essential)​ Main Topics: 1) Winter skills refresher 2) Avalanche assessment 3) Clothing and technical equipment 4) Rope-work and belaying 5) Winter climbing techniques 6) Use of guide books and climbing topos 7) Guided winter climbing on Grades 1-5


Cancellation Policy

Booking Conditions: I agree to abide by such regulations as Talisman Mountaineering may consider advisable and I understand that if I make an alteration to a booking once an invoice has been raised I must give my new instructions in writing and pay an amendment fee of £50. Talisman Mountaineering reserve the right to cancel any bookings should the minimum course participant criteria not be met. In such cases an alternative date or course will be given or a full refund offered. Please make cheques payable to 'Talisman Activities' Cancellation: I understand that if I cancel my booking my deposit will be forfeited. I also understand that if I cancel my booking within six weeks of the start of the course and if my place cannot be filled then I will be liable for the full course fee. Insurance: "Climbing and Mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement." (BMC Participation Statement) We are covered by professional liability insurance but you are responsible for organising your own CANCELLATION, CURTAILMENT & ACCIDENT INSURANCE COVER. Health: I agree to notify Talisman in writing should I have any underlying health condition that could affect my participation or the safety of other participants.
